La Villa is the most centrally located village in Alta Badia at the bottom of the Gardenazza and the Piz La Villa Mountains, dominated by the "Colz Castle". La Villa became famous for the "Gran Risa" slope, where the Ski World Cup has taken place for over 20 years.
The fields in the valley clearly preserved the traces of the ancient rural settlements called "les viles".
